GrooveShine producer Mike McHugh uses his guitar and looper to create a full live sound. Acoustic-based reggae and mellow funk provide laid back danceable grooves for lyric based songs. Live performances are mixture of covers and originals.
GrooveShine music melds the energy of acoustic rock with hip hop production techniques and multi-influenced beats. Reggae, house, funk, hip hop and world rhythms combine with singer-songwriter melodic structures.
As a prolific songwriter, beat-maker and DJ, Mike merged favorite genres to create the GrooveShine sound and style of musical production. He works with a variety of featured vocalists, composing and acting as producer, helping artists format their melodies and lyrics into songs.
Featured guests are an important part of Mike’s acoustic performances, as well as GrooveShine full band shows.
